Germany Trade & Invest GmbH (GTAI) is conducting a tech journey to Brazil on the topic of renewable energy.

The Cluster Promotion to Brazil is an initiative of Berlin Partner for Business and Technology, initiated by GTAI and organized by Start2 Group.

Participants will gain valuable insights into current regional trends and innovations and have opportunities to connect with potential partners in Brazil. The program includes multiple visits to key companies and institutions, enriching the experience and fostering collaboration.

Potential of Brazil for German Companies

Brazil is a global leader in renewable energy and a key player in the green transition. With its diversified and predominantly renewable energy matrix, Brazil offers German companies a unique opportunity to innovate, expand, and contribute to sustainable development in the electric power sector.

Energy Technology Cluster

The Energy Technology Cluster is one of five cross-state growth and innovation fields identified together with the state of Brandenburg in the Joint Innovation Strategy of the states of Berlin and Brandenburg – innoBB. It was founded in January 2011.

The aim of the cluster is to strengthen Berlin-Brandenburg as a centre for energy technology with its numerous companies along the entire value chain and to further develop the capital region into an attractive and competitive location in the field of energy and energy efficiency technologies. This sector is already contributing to positive and sustainable economic development in the region, and the trend is rising.

Explore Brazil's Renewable Energy Potential

Global Renewable Energy Leader:

Brazil generates 93.1% of its electricity from renewable sources, including hydropower, solar, wind, and biomass, setting a benchmark for sustainability.

Booming Energy Sector and Innovation:

With a record-breaking 18.7% increase in installed electricity capacity in 2024 and over 157 energy tech startups, Brazil is driving advancements in renewable energy and decarbonization

Green Hydrogen and Clean Energy Potential:

Brazil’s abundant renewable resources position it as a global hub for green hydrogen production and derivatives such as sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and green ammonia.

Government Support and Incentives:

Tax exemptions, financing programs from BNDES and ANEEL, and Latin America’s largest energy R&D investments make Brazil attractive for foreign investors.

Strategic Infrastructure and Export Advantage:

The National Interconnected System ensures energy security, while strategic ports and a robust logistics network enhance trade and global energy exports.
